I Said I’d Be Honest About the Struggle

For the first time in a long time, I’ve felt like I was finally gaining momentum toward fulfilling my dream.

Not necessarily in sales or numbers, but in other ways that made me feel like I was making real progress. I was becoming more active on social media, releasing videos, trying new things, and I even launched my own Printful store with a few T-shirt designs.

For the first time in a while, it felt like I was moving forward.

Then this week happened.

Some things happened that I won’t discuss here, but because of struggles I’ve dealt with for most of my life, they hit me pretty hard. I haven’t been sleeping much because my mind doesn’t seem to know how to turn it off. It stays with me throughout the day and follows me into the night.

Thankfully, I have an amazing wife who continues to be my strength and helps bring me back to reality during those moments when I have a hard time trusting my own thoughts.

And I promise, this probably isn’t nearly as serious as I’m making it sound. It’s very serious to me, but I know there are probably people who would hear the whole story and say, “Really? That’s what you’re worried about?”

And honestly, I wish I could see it that way too.

But I’m writing this because I said I was going to be honest about the struggle of following my dream—not just share the victories, new projects, and moments when everything seems to be going right.

Sometimes following your dream means pushing forward when you feel confident and excited.

Sometimes it means taking another step when your own mind is telling you to stop.

Right now, I’m trying to do the second one.

I’m trying to keep moving forward. I’m trying to remember why I started. And I’m reminding myself of the words I’ve encouraged other people to live by so many times.

Believe in God. Believe in yourself. Believe in your dream.

If stories of faith, purpose, and spiritual warfare inspire you, I’d love for you to check out my Books of the Fallen series. Available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible.

Believe in God. Believe in yourself. Believe in your dream.
