Follow the Dream With Me

I’ve struggled with following my dreams for a long time.

I’ve talked before about how many times I’ve started, stopped, and started again. Because of that, it’s been difficult to build any kind of consistent following. But through all of it, one thing has remained on my heart: I believe part of my calling is to encourage others to follow their dreams.

The problem is, somewhere along the way, I started believing that in order to encourage others, I needed to look like I had everything figured out.

So I tried to build a brand that made it seem like I had it all together—that I knew exactly what I was doing and exactly where I was going.

But that’s a façade.

I don’t have it all together.

I struggle with low self-esteem. I doubt myself. I question whether I’m good enough. Sometimes I have a hard enough time believing in my own dreams, much less feeling qualified to encourage someone else to believe in theirs.

So does that mean I give up?

No.

It means I go back to something I felt God put on my heart years ago, but this time without adding my own interpretation to it:

Encourage others to follow their dreams AS I FOLLOW MINE.

Maybe I was never supposed to reach the destination first and then turn around and tell everyone else how to get there.

Maybe I’m supposed to invite you along for the journey.

That means I don’t pretend to have everything figured out. I share the failures—and there have been plenty of them—along with the victories. I talk about the doubts, the setbacks, the times I want to quit, and the times I find the courage to try one more time.

I want you to see the journey, not just the highlight reel.

So going forward, you’re going to see more personal and raw social media posts from me. My blogs will become more personal, too. I want to share what it actually looks like to pursue a dream when you’re still trying to figure things out yourself.

Maybe we can figure some of it out together.

Because following your dream doesn’t mean you have everything figured out.

Sometimes it simply means having enough faith to take the next step.

Believe in God. Believe in yourself. Believe in your dream.

Follow the Journey

I’m still chasing my dreams—still learning, still failing, still growing—and I’d love for you to come along for the journey.

Follow me on social media for honest conversations about faith, dreams, writing, failures, victories, and everything I’m learning along the way.

And if you’re chasing a dream of your own, I hope you’ll join me. Maybe we can encourage each other as we go.

Believe in God. Believe in yourself. Believe in your dream.
